Please note that meetings are restarting at the Southcourt Community Centre (opens at 2pm, talk starts 2.45):

May 14th - Quarter Sessions.  Not just crime, all the life of the county was handled by them, from where you could live, to house building, to whether you attended church.  Eve McLaughlin

June 11 - The Best of Architects: The Gilbert Scott family who built all the important buildings in Bucks and a wide variety of other places.  Postponed to later on in the year.

Welcome to the Buckinghamshire Genealogical Society's Home page.

The BGS was founded in 1992 to assist members living outside the county with their Bucks research, and to help those living within the county with all aspects of their family history. We aim to do this in a professional yet friendly fashion, and are fortunate to have as Secretary well-known genealogical author, Eve McLaughlin, whose knowledge of the county and its families is unsurpassed.
